Just discovered your writing through your coverage of the Irish Independent’s handling of the Wikileaks cables. It was indeed painful to go buy it knowing there wouldn’t be anything like in-depth analysis of the information. Really liked your commentary on it and the older articles about Shannon. It’s always good to hear from someone else who found the reaction of the country to the Obama visit sickening. There definitely weren’t enough dissenting voices at the time. Oh, and I’m a huge fan of Rap News too.

@tomwatson Nothing he said indicates "rejection" of a citizens' movement. It indicates that he believes the FSA is not above reproach. - 13 hours ago
@tomwatson In the absence of caring about the truth of the matter out of 'sensitivity,' a politicized reading is left unchallenged. - 13 hours ago
@tomwatson c.f. BBC photo. Is it that we are supposed to hold off on caring about the truth of the matter out of "sensitivity?" - 13 hours ago
@tomwatson There are already well attested misrepresentations of the details of the story. - 13 hours ago
@tomwatson Right. And anyone who wears shoelaces (like Stalin) is also evil. Questioning the details of the story is desirable. - 13 hours ago
@tomwatson I mean a political counter. Are you implying its ok to use a child massacre for political gain,as long as you're "the good guys." - 13 hours ago
@tomwatson It was the right thing to immediately question *reportage* over the Houla Massacre. - 13 hours ago
@tomwatson My argument: you misrepresented *questioning reportage* as *support for Assad.* That is not criticism. It's distortion. Own it. - 13 hours ago
@tomwatson You don't see the Kuwait incubator baby incident happen time and time again without developing these instincts. - 13 hours ago
